Jess Reyes

Jess Reyes is a California Bay Area native who enjoys a multi-faceted musical career as a performer, music technologist, and educator. Jess’ music technology career spans over twenty years, including ten years as the lead project manager for Apple’s GarageBand music production application—and today he teaches it. Pittsburg High School, Jess’ alma mater, is happy to have him teaching classes in the recording arts and helping students to learn how to use—you guessed it—GarageBand!

As a regular in the Bay Area music scene, prior to joining EVOLUTION – The Ultimate Tribute to Journey as keyboardist and vocalist, Jess was the pianist with San Jose’s own Nineteen. Led by Gus Kambeitz, Nineteen presents San Jose’s longest-running Big Band concert series, and has performed with numerous professional musical artists. Jess thoroughly enjoyed performing with Nineteen and got to play with many legendary jazz musicians including: Ernie Watts, Greg Adams, Jeff Lorber, Russell Ferrante, Dave Weckl, and Journey’s own Steve Smith.
